Are you looking to start a blog but just don’t know where to start? Maybe your a little afraid of the technical aspect of it all. You don’t want to have to learn how to code as to even think of this makes your head hurt? I understand, I do. Coding can make your head hurt if you have no desire to do it. It makes my head hurt sometimes, and I love to code.
Don’t let this fear of code stop your from starting your blog. You really want to start one, you know your do, but you don’t know how or where to get started.
Well don’t fear, I can help you get started. As a matter of fact, I can setup your blog for free. All I ask is that you purchase your web hosting with me, through one of my affiliate web host links. I will get a commission for this, but it will be at no extra cost to you. Your going to need a web host anyway to get started, so why not purchase it from me and you will get your blog setup for free!
I will even help you choose a web host. On my site I have reviews for 5 of the most poplar web hosts out there. You can read these reviews and make a decision, based on your budget and personal needs, and pick a web host that aligns closely with those needs.
Don’t know anything about web hosting? Thats ok too. Let me tell you that for you to have a blog or website for people to visit, you need a place on the internet for that web site to live. This way visitors can type in an address in their browser and go to your site to read your blog articles. This place on the internet is called a web host.
Speaking of addresses, you will also need a domain name, which is just the address that visitors type in their browser to locate your blog. Don’t worry if you don’t understand all this, you will learn it in time. Right now, you just need to get started.

First you will need to pick a domain name. This can be easy or hard depending on what you want to call your website. Yes, your website needs a name. If you just want to keep it simple, and use your own individual name, like “bobjones.com” then this can work. Depending on how common your name is, your name may already be taken, so you might have to modify it a bit to get the domain name you want.
Using your personal name works well with a blog, but if you are wanting to start a business, then you want to pick a domain name that closely resembles your business name. For example, your business name might be something like, Tim’s Dry Cleaning Services, so then your would want a domain name like, “timsdrycleaning.com” It doesn’t have to be a dot com, it could be a dot net as well. Example: “timsdrycleaning.net.”
You want to purchase your domain name with a domain registration company. My favorite is NameCheap, because, they are cheap. You can get a domain name with them for around $12 to $15 a year.
You can sometimes get a domain name for free, when you sign up for web hosting. The only problem with this is that you may have problems if you want to change web hosts later on down the road.
Second, you want to pick a web host. Now, there are thousands of web hosts out there, and it is impossible to talk about all of them. Sometimes it just comes down to personal preference. I am going to give you a list of 5 here, and if you do not like any of these, then your on your own. No, just kidding, but really, I have already done the research for your and have had experiences with all of these hosts, so you can’t go wrong with any of them. I do have a personal favorite however, but I won’t try to sway you here, by telling you who that is.
